Bio Profile picture for photographer Aniruddh Kothari

Aniruddh Kothari is a Mumbai-based photographer whose work sits at the intersection of portraiture, advertising and visual storytelling. Colourblind since birth, he sees the world less in shades and more in shapes, moods and light — a perspective that has become the foundation of his distinct photographic voice irrespective of his subjects.

Since establishing Aniruddh Photo Co. in 2014, he has created imagery that balances intimacy with impact, moving seamlessly between portraits, branded campaigns, product studies and documentary-style work. His photographs are marked by a quiet confidence — the ability to distill complexity into frames that feel immediate, precise and enduring.

Over the past decade, his portfolio has grown to include collaborations with some of the world’s most influential names: Netflix, Amazon, Nike, Meta, JSW Sports, Adani Sportsline, Viacom18, Bumble, and IPL teams like Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals. From key visuals that anchor global campaigns to portraits of celebrated actors, athletes and musicians, his images are trusted to not just represent but define a moment.

A recent fascination has also led to him stumbling into the world of pets and their dynamics with their companions and owners - being documented as a part of his new collaborative initiative, Alien Panda Studio - a hybrid creative community and studio that wanders beyond commercial work in the quest for expression through experimentation.

At the heart of his practice is a sharp narrative instinct — an understanding that every subject, whether a person, a product or a fleeting moment, carries a story worth telling. It is this blend of artistry and subtle observations that makes Aniruddh’s work both striking in the present and resonant over time.

When not on assignment, he’s as comfortable brewing coffee as he is behind the camera, and is always up for a good conversation—or a spirited game of FIFA.
